Be passionate about what you do for your career. I am fortunate to be in a position where I get to utilize my passion for building and technology every day. Being able to work in a field I love has helped me to get to where I am today. If the passion isn’t there, it is just another job.
My joy of building started from working with my dad in his wood shop. My passion for Virtual Design and Construction started when I was a freshman in high school and took a drafting class. I haven’t stopped using 3D Design software since!
I place so much value in curiosity and an eagerness to learn. There are often better ways of doing things, but it can be easy for people to get stuck in old habits; in the status quo. Being curious and always open to other’s ideas—being willing to collaborate to discover new solutions—is what will truly push our industry forward.

It’s important to be discerning about how we use technology. There is a crazy amount of new technology coming out all the time. Truebeck is excels at figuring out which of the latest and greatest tools have value and then ensuring they can be put to best use—and that they can be applied to projects at scale.
I love working in a region that is so focused on progress and innovation. The Bay Area gives us access to such a wide variety of market sectors and unique projects. Our proximity to Silicon Valley, to such a tech-savvy community, means we have clients and projects that enable us to push the envelope. Moreso than anywhere else in the country, we live in a region where trying new and innovative ideas is the norm.
I feel our industry has a real challenge when it comes to inspiring the next generation of builders. We need to be focused on getting the younger generations excited about building—and on inspiring them to be willing to do the hard work that it takes to design, plan, and build construction projects.
No matter how far I am in my career, I believe in leading with humility. Even if someone is an expert in something, its best to navigate their world with a sense of humility. There are always new things to learn.
The thing I love about my job is no two days are the same. The CTI group has gained a reputation as being technological problem solvers, which means we are always approached with new challenges that require unique solutions. We get to figure out how to apply our technology to seek resolution.
Truebeck is a unique company, We are growing, but maintain the camaraderie of a smaller company. We get to work on some of the most interesting and challenging projects out there. And, most importantly, we’re a company that recognizes and rewards people who work hard and dedicate themselves.
My favorite thing about my team is that we have each other’s backs. Everyone is willing to jump in and help others.
My family is everything. I have young kids and spending time with them, and with my wife, is what I look forward to every day.
