San Francisco, CA
The primary goal of this design-build warehouse expansion project is to increase the warehouse efficiency to substantially increase food capacity to achieve SFMFB’s mission to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin counties. The expanded facility creates a better welcome for visitors with a new lobby and front entrance, provides expanded warehouse space, and a new food cooler with storage racking. Truebeck renovated the first and second floor offices, conference rooms and restrooms to provide a more updated space for staff. The project created a new loading dock with a new delivery road for incoming and departing shipments. Truebeck was able to keep the delivery route operational for the majority of construction, with close coordination with the Food Bank, so operations could be maintained throughout construction. Sustainable features include solar panels, two 20,000 gallon cisterns to collect water for landscaping irrigation, and the building is all-electric, lowering its carbon footprint.
