This project emcompasses a comprehensive maintenance and improvement plan for the social swimming pool and its adjacent changing rooms located on the 3rd floor in the Multnomah Athletic Club. Originally built as a Type 1A structure with full sprinkler protection, this facility now requires targeted upgrades to enhance functionality, safety, and aesthetics.

The renovation scope includes the selective removal of interior, non-load-bearing walls, existing finishes, and outdated fixtures. Key improvements consist of installing new pool and mechanical equipment, reconstructing the pool floor and stairs, and applying modern finishes. Additional upgrades encompass new lighting installations, replacement of interior doors and casework, updated plumbing fixtures, and a complete overhaul of interior finishes to ensure a refreshed, inviting environment for club members and guests.

This very sucessful project had a fast-track schedule and tight budget lead to collaboration and innovation with the design team—and greater savings to the client. It also won the 2015 ENR Best Project Award of Merit winner for Interior/Tenant Improvement.
