Success is when opportunity and preparedness meet. When I was starting my career, my mentor taught me the value of preparing for future opportunity. Think about where you want to be in five years, what role you want, and start learning everything you can now. Investing in your future means you’re already ready when your dream job comes around.
Integrity is so important to me. In business and relationships, integrity fosters trust and sets a foundation for success. To me, integrity means doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking—it means living your life in a way that means people trust you to follow your word.
Take risks, but calculated ones. Failure is part of success and you’ll never get anywhere if you let fear of it keep you from what you want. But be prepared, as best you can. Learn and then leap!
I got my degree in Architecture, but wasn’t an architect for long! Post-college, I was working for one of my instructors at his architecture firm but was laid off due to some restructuring. I landed in a sales role and that lead to a complete change in my career path. I realized how much I enjoyed the sales and Business Development work…and never looked back!
Leaders are made, not born, but some find their calling earlier than others. Leadership is a skill that can be developed, just like any other. If you want to be good at it, you need to work at it all the time. I also think it’s important to ask yourself not only how you become a leader, but why you want to be one—to understand what motivates you.
Nobody gets to the top on their own. We’ve all had help along the way. I had a fantastic mentor, whose guidance was invaluable. He helped me clarify my career goals and taught me that hard work is crucial to getting where you want to go. Now that I’m further along in my career, I am committed to helping people live in the direction of their dreams.
Successful people make for successful companies. I value a workplace that encourages individuals to develop to their highest potential, rewards calculated risks and fosters collaboration. Every person is on a journey to be the best version of themselves. Supporting them ultimately benefits the team as much as the individual!
The Bay Area is a culmination of design, innovation and beauty. There is so much groundbreaking work being done and working in the epicenter of so many firsts is inspiring, contagious and energizing. I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
If I’m not at work, I’m spending time with my friends and family. I love being with my amazing and beautiful wife and my four sons; enjoying a gourmet meal; or watching my boys play soccer. As long as I’m with them, it’s a good time!
I feel so lucky to have landed at Truebeck. It’s a company that aligns so well with my values. At it’s core, Truebeck is about people and providing the resources and support they need to do their best work.
